  1. Met transferee/rejoiner interview

ANyone who has started got any feedback? I've handed in my notice but I am now quite worried. One of the blokes I work with has asked to stay in our currrent force as he got offered a 9-5 SNT job which would've screwed him for childcare. I've my borough but no idea what i'll be doing.

Metrecruit27 I work for City of London police at the moment. So near, yet so different in terms of the job. wakewaterblue, I've been given an introduction email which details a training fortnight. One day at Hendon and then the rest at regional centres. Looks like it's all NCALT and a few other bits and pieces that I'm sure we're all aware of as normal.

I've not started yet but I have handed my notice in. I've a start date of 20th May which is oddly the same as two other lads on my team. We all handed in our notice last Friday. Lots of people telling us we're making a mistake etc but personally I can't keep coming to work for glorified tea breaks where I am at the moment. I'm going to Hackney by the way. That was my first choice.

No word for me. Their comma skills are pretty poor. I got a call from the HR department a couple of weeks asking me how my medical went as they didn't know!
  5. Met transferee/rejoiner interview

Had my follow up ear medical two days ago. I'm restricted from doing Firearms, dogs and surveillance. Not too bothered to be honest. I need to speak to Maryam about where I'm at. A guy on my current team has been pencilled in for 13th may. I'm hoping for the same. The ambiguity is annoying me a bit though.

JT4130, Good to hear they are the three you put down. They are the only ones I can realistically get to within around an hour from my place. Glad I didn't miss somewhere obvious. I don;t have those patterns. I've unfortunately only been able to get the Camden and Islington patterns (as thats where I'd wanted to go). Would you be able to send them over to me on a personal message?

Congrats Luke! I know I won;t be on the 8th April intake as I have a follow up hearing appointment on the 12th March. Given the amount of leave I'm owed I'm hoping to start 13th May if all goes well. One of the lads on my team is going over and he told them he holiday to take and they said the 13th is fine to start. Yu getting your fourth choice is worrying me though. I only put down 3: Hackney, Haringey and Lambeth in that order.

DoubleG and JT4130, you guys must live reasonably near me. I'm in Hitchin. Trains come into Kings Cross and Finsbury Park meaning Islington would have been ideal as would Camden. Hackney and Haringey the two clear choices although oddly Lambeth is 'doable' as it;s only 22 mins from Finsbury Park on the tube and Brixton nick (the main response nick) is only two mins from the tube. Hopefully see one of you on Hackney/Haringey borough soon!

I also had the same issue with my birth certificate. Apparently the short form one my Mum had wasn't good enough (although it was good enough for my current force). Had to order a new one which I'm waiting for. I also 'failed' the hearing test. Apparently I'm fine to get in but I have to see their NCT consultant to see if I should be restricted in duties i.e not going to firearms. Considering I'm not applying for firearms I find it all a little unnecessary. I got a provisional offer through the other day. Due to loads of the inner-London boroughs not being on the list I'm pretty restricted as to my options. I can only realistically get to Hackney and Haringey in an hour from my house in Hertfordshire as I come into Kings Cross. Anyone else having this issue?

Had the medical today. Failed the hearing test (white coat syndrome I think). It won't stop me getting through but it means I have to go back again and see an Ear,Nose and Throat specialist they have. Also, lots of different rumours knocking about amongst the lads there today regarding rail allowance going and everyone going to neighbourhood teams rather than response. There were 5 of us and three of the others were only 50/50 on going. I have to say going to a difficult to get to Borough and being on Neighbourhood teams would make me think harder about transferring.

Cheers for that. Gutted that Camden, Westminster and Islington aren't on the list as they are the three easiest for me to come into on the train from north Herts

Lads, haven;t had the forms yet. Anyone able to confirm what Boroughs are available? Appreciate it'll be a long list but it would help me out.

Anyone confirm what Boroughs have been offered? Have my medical later in the week.

Wakewaterblue, I know London boroughs reasonably well so can give you some advice: Victoria is in Westminster. Their main nicks are at Charing Cross (which also happens to be short walk from Waterloo) and West End Central which is in Mayfair ( a 25 min walk from Victoria or tube journey) London Bridge is in Southwalk. Their main nick is in Peckham which is about 8 mins on the train from London Bridge. Lambeths big Nick is in Brixton

My understanding is the roles are for response. Thats what I'm hoping anyway!
