    I'm New!
  1. There is much talk of it, it is being seriously entertained by parliament and the talk is gathering pace. This has happened in the past and it will happen again in the future when another political party attempts to reinvent the wheel. Bottom line, in my opinion, with experience of 2 of the 3 forces in question. THIS IS NOT A DONE DEAL AND WILL NOT HAPPEN. They should look to execute the merger of and create Police England & Police Wales, or Police E&W before they consider anything to do with CNC/MDP/BTP. When talking about merging home office police forces, though substantial geographical/logistical differences can be evident the basics of these organisations are the same, grants aside funding is the same (method not amount obvs) core principles and purpose are the same, command structure and depts again largely the same. The three 'special' police forces are three completely different beasts CNC/MDP may have similarities but they differ considerable, funding is an massive issue, constitutional authority/legislation for these forces and their terms of operation etc etc you could go on for ever. Again in my opinion, in my experience these 3 agencies should remain independent, the benefits of a signal, national, home office police force however I can see. When I say it will not happen I naturally mean anytime soon, half way through a full term with another half to go, I won't see this happen in my time. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Yes, but what don't police colleagues take the mick out of. A safer question is "to what extent will my police colleagues take the mick?" Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
