  1. Police Scotland Recruitment

I’m a fair bit behind some of you, but I received confirmation that I have passed the initial paper sift and will be invited in due course to sit the SETs.
  2. Application form sent

Hi, Sorry for my delayed response. I’ve still not heard anything as of yet. I’m assuming the process might be going a bit slower in the build up to Christmas. Will of course keep you updated if and when I hear back!
  3. Application form sent

Hey! When I sent my application, I got the automatic response email immediately after submitting to confirm it had been received. I then got an email 4 days later confirming receipt of my application and that it would be forwarded to East command within 7 working days. That’s all I’ve heard so far but will update if I hear anything [emoji3]
  4. Application form sent

Hey! Firstly best of luck! I sent my application in through East Command and my current timeline is: 09/10/17 - Application Sent 13/09/2017 - Receipt confirmation And that’s me! Into the waiting game now!

Thanks for that folks. I expected the full process to take quite a while! [emoji41]

Just out of curiosity, do you mind me asking what command you are going through and roughly when you submitted your application? Only reason I ask is I'm going through east command and would be good to try and find out the average waiting times between each part of the process!
  7. Police Scotland Recruitment

You might have seen I am in the same boat as yourself and applied yesterday! Best of luck and keep in touch!
  8. Police Scotland Recruitment

That's my application been submitted this evening. Hopefully the start of a new chapter and making 2017 my year of change! Not going to get too far ahead of myself though as I know there is a very demanding process ahead of me should I pass the paper sift! Will keep you guys updated and no doubt be looking for some advice and tips should I make it to the next stage!

  10. Police Scotland Recruitment

Just finished my application tonight. Just going over it and sanity checking it and will probably double check it all on Sunday night and then send in so it's at the top of the pile on Monday Morning [emoji87] I've not even sent it an already got some butterflies!

  12. Police Scotland Recruitment

That's what's worrying me the most. I've never really been in an interview situation (only with people I know and have worked with) so any interview I'm lucky to get to will be a challenge on its own!

Hi MorkC, Thanks very much for your response, I'll try and look into this further. Would rather be proactive on this so I'm not learning at short notice! Thanks again!
  14. Police Scotland Recruitment

Well folks, I'm finally going to give it another bash. I last applied in 2012 to L&B and failed the SET on the maths paper by 1 mark! However a recurring knee problem stopped me reapplying but after keyhole surgery a couple of months ago I'm raring to go with a hope I can get my application in before recruitment begins to slow a bit further. One thing I just cannot get my head around is competencies. I've researched the STAR method but I just don't understand the whole concept of a competency based question. I probably come across as a bit of an amateur with this, and I'm not afraid to admit that, however would appreciate any advice!
  15. Colour vision referral

Does anyone know of any specialist roles within PS that a colour blind (Red Green) officer would be barred from? Fire arms would be one I'd imagine but would be interested to know!
