  1. Are All Of The Application Forms For Police Officer The Same?

I belive the application is a national one for home office forces. Sent from my SM-G925F using Tapatalk

It all depends on your personal circumstances I think. If you live in the same force area and have done all your life, it should be quicker than if you've moved a lot. I gauged mine on my credit file, they searched my credit file and a few days later I asked if I'd been cleared and they said yes, but I suppose that depends on the force and whoever has your file. I failed vetting in 2012 but passed it recently. How long you been waiting? It's a nerve wrecking wait, I think even more so if you've failed before like I did. Sent from my SM-G925F using Tapatalk
  3. Medical Report

Hi, Is there anyone on here that had to wait for their GP to write a report before they were given the green light by the OHU? The reason I ask is because all I'm waiting for is my medical to be signed off so I can start training as a SC at the beginning of September. I just want to know how long it took for your GP to respond? I've literally got under 3 weeks for them to respond! Thanks in advance Sent from my SM-G925F using Tapatalk

It does say somewhere in the guidelines that you are not to attempt to get details of any involvement with the police from anyone you declare. However it also says that you must declare anyone that you are living with at the same address. If you didn't declare it at the beginning because they weren't living with you at the time of submitting your application, it is your responsibility to inform the recruitment department of any changes, such as anyone moving in etc. If the police checked the electoral roll and discovered that someone else is living there and you haven't told them, they may of seen this as you hiding it, not that anyone here thinks you intentionally did. Did you ever declare they are living with you? Sent from my SM-G925F using Tapatalk

Just been reading through this thread, I'm going to the Assessment Centre for NWP next week. I would say that getting references and asking for your DVLA information is part of the vetting, I would imagine it won't be long... well done for getting this far, hopefully I will get to this stage of the process. Any tips about the Assessment Centre will be received with thanks!! Sent from my SM-G925F using Tapatalk
  7. North Wales Police Recruitment May 2013

Was this letter good news? I hope it was.
  8. North Wales Police Recruitment May 2013

It sounds like good news then. I received a letter saying they are not taking my application further as I failed the security checks. Bit annoyed really as there is no reason for me to fail!! I've written a letter to the DCC which I know he has received so just to see if he writes back. If not then I will explore different avenues, because it is not fair, I feel like a criminal when I`m not. Let us know if you get some good news, fingers crossed for you.

    Any more news?
  10. Immigration Enforcement Officer (ICE)

Sorry to hear about TVP, better luck next time, I personally don't understand how they work out these scores, was your assessment centre score high overall I reckon they use that as well when deciding to put you through. Great news about the Immigration officer job, best of luck with the rest of the process.
  11. North Wales Police Recruitment May 2013

It was really hard, even harder to digest as I know I have nothing that would preclude me. Ive just applied for the role of PCSO so will see how that turns out, my circumstances have changed so im going to see if it makes a difference, keep us updated on any further news. best of luck.
  12. Immigration Enforcement Officer (ICE)

Well done firestorm, sounds promising. I would imagine the same sort of checks as for a HO police force. Did you not have your interview for TVP about a week or so ago, I've been following your posts, just wondering how you got on.
  13. North Wales Police Recruitment May 2013

At least you've got an idea what areas to push on with regards to finding out, I was just told the chief officer reserves the right to refuse appointment. Have you checked your Experian credit report maybe that would show something up it would also show if they have checked it, ACPO police vetting it will appear as. Northwalesgirl, I'm guessing your post is meant for me, I failed the security checks back in April for the role of special constable it was the only thing I was waiting for. It can be a very unfair process, but you've got too pick yourself up and try again, if anything it shows resilience.

Sorry to hear your bad news guys, good luck trying to information out of them marcpaul1979, did it say on the application the chief officer reserves the right to refuse appointment without giving reason? Northwalesgirl, don't put all your eggs in one basket just yet, they phoned me confirming my references and I thought my vetting was through, I had a letter couple weeks later saying no. Best of luck.
