Hi, I see you already had a positive response but I wanted to reply also to hopefully give you some hope. I after 4 applications and failing the assessment centre passes out at Tulliallan on 9th June and and now out on shift. My journey was as follows: Applied 29/07/2015 Failed Assessment Centre 12/11/2015 Had to wait 6 months to reapply Applied 13/05/2016 Initial Fitness 29/6/2016 Assessment Centre 28/07/2016 Provisional Offer 29/07/2016 Medical 15/08/2016 but deferred and eventually passed 22/08/2016 Final fitness passed 9/9/2016 Vetting cleared 17/10/2016 Final fitness and SMT 24/02/2017 Started tulliallan 27/03/2017 Passed exam (2nd sitting) 06/06/2017 Passed out 09/06/2017 After reapolying when I failed the A.C. I didn't have to do the SET again. I just had to do my fitness and was back in to the A.C.. Hope this helps - if in any doubt phone recruitment and they will conform. June

Lots of positives to take but please be under no illusion you'll get out it what you put in and there is a lot of hard graft required but it's all worth it. Yeah we had a charity night in the copper lounge - every division needs to raise funds for their chosen charity but that will all be explained to you. Our final exam was on the Thursday, 1zt resit Tuesday and we had an end of ball night on the Wednesday which was fantastic.

Good luck and well done to all you that are due to start on the june intake. The course and time at Tulliallan will be what you make it. The first day and week is pretty daunting. The staff look to be their authority across and seem.quite scary but it's to get you in line for the next 11 weeks ahead. Just play the game keep your head down and get involved where you can and you will love it. Tip id give is go a walk on the Sunday night see where everything is. Figure out the quickest route to get from your room to the games hall because you will be issued your kit in the games hall and be expected to return it to your room very quickly and be back within a short space of time and they shout if your slow - think I was last one back and couldn't find my line but I got through it. Id also suggest if you've not studied for a while try and be prepared. Our class used mind maps quite a lot which were good but you need to figure out what works for you and id say learn from the first input you have so that you don't have things building up to learn. I struggled majorly with studying and had probably a Melt down once a week but your classmates and the instructors are amazing (they aren't as scary as they first come across). Last piece of advice please please enjoy your time, my time at tulli finishes on Friday and as much as I'm excited to goto division I'm going to be so sad about leaving here as I have loved it - not all the time but I stuck at it when I wasn't doing so well and managed to pass my exam at 2nd sitting. Good luck guys and enjoy

Was the most amazing day and made every worry and wait worth it. These are my timescales Applied 29/07/2015 Failed Assessment Centre 12/11/2015 Had to wait 6 months to reapply Applied 13/05/2016 Initial Fitness 29/6/2016 Assessment Centre 28/07/2016 Provisional Offer 29/07/2016 Medical 15/08/2016 but deferred and eventually passed 22/08/2016 Final fitness passed 9/9/2016 Vetting cleared 17/10/2016 Final fitness and SMT 24/02/2017 Started tulliallan 27/03/2017 Passed exam (2nd sitting) 06/06/2017 Passed out 09/06/2017

I wasn't very good at push ups. Managed 7 first time and then 14 the next. Again it's just about showing commitment and improvement. They take you for circuits (15 to 1) and also Forrest runs so be prepared for that. Hope you like running LOL

For interview make sure you know the competencies they interview on and try have a couple examples for each. Research the division where you stay For example know who your divisional commander is, key points of interest i.e football stadiums etc but also for your Choices put down. Know force priorities and know the force code of ethics and strands of diversity (9 strands). Know the chief name and when police scotland formed and also be prepared to give examples of specialised units i.e firearms, mounted branch, cid, dog branch, air support, road policing, support unit etc. I can say I haven't heard of them putting your answers up and tearing it to shreds but may have changed since I applied? I had to get to get to 6.7 before the level dropped but in my 2 fitness up at tulliallan I got 7.8 and 8.3. I run regularly and am a member of a running club but my advice would be practice - but in a hall if you can as there are too many variables which will affect performance outside. Id also suggest working on core and upper body as you get measured on push ups and sit ups also. Generally they are just looking for improvement. The gym in tulliallan is fantastic and id strongly recommend it. Hope this helps June :-)

I have to agree with this post, I was in the exact same boat and we both passed out yesterday. For me it's been a long journey this is my 4th application and on the last I failed the assessment centre and had to wait to apply again so for those of you in that position just keep trying you will get there. I am an advert of if you keep trying you will get where you want to be. Don't give up and follow your dreams you wikl not be disappointed. Yesterday was one of the proudest days of my life and I am so sad that my time at tulli is nearing the end but excited at same time in starting in G division If any of you have any questions happy to try and answer them for you June

Well done to all you getting your offers. I was a March intake and have final exam next week so have been exactly where you are just now and can understand how you are all feeling. It has been hard work and I won't lie there has been tears and times when I questioned my own ability but my class are fantastic - made some friends that I will keep for life and the instructors we have are absolutely amazing !! They will seem scary on the first few days but just play the game and you'll be fine. Any questions feel free to pop me a message and ill fry answer you as quickly as I can

Hey, I am glad to see this post after the last one in which you were disappointed and justifiably so. I am glad that after reflection you have decided that this is the job you want to do and you will try again. I have been where you are and its a hard place to be especially when you see others progressing but try and take positives out of negative situations as hard as that might be. I am on my 4th application, first 2 didn't make it past initial sift due to a financial matter, 3rd I failed at the assessment centre in Nov 2015 and I was devastated to say the least but I waited the 6 months applied again and this time I am just waiting to see if I am on the March intake if not I will be on the June intake. Go into the appointment listen to the feedback and use it to your advantage. You have 6 months to work on whatever you felt it was that let you down, 6 months to improve your fitness if required and another 6 months of life experience to gain and new examples to use for the next time. By applying again it shows grit and determination and its a sign of your character that you are not willing to give up and the recruitment team will pick up on that. I hope my experience gives you some hope that yes this time wasn't for you but it doesn't mean the next time wont be. Good Luck!!

Thanks Becky feels like my PO was such a long time ago now though lol. My advice for the assessment centre is remember as soon as you arrive eyes are on you. Start chatting to others who are there for the AC get to know each other it helps settle the nerves and helps breaks the ice. Make sure you arrive on time (I always favour being early) we had someone come into group 15 mins late as they didn't read the instructions properly - don't want to get off to a bad start. The only advice I can give is to be involved as much as you can, use your voice in an appropriate way, be heard but not overpowering. Try and relax and enjoy the day. You are all there for the same reason and there is a job for you all so help each other as well. Good luck
