Hi,

I'm due to start training for the Metropolitan Police 3 weeks today. Since everything I know about the police could, honestly, be written on a postage stamp. Can anybody offer their advice, top tips, light hearted experiences during training etc. I've read the thread about the newbie at the police station I was hoping for something similar about the training.

Anybody else starting on the 15th March, looking forward to meeting you all.

Lots of black pens. A few blank notebooks, highlighters, a decent laptop, two ears and one mouth, Kiwi polish PARADE GLOSS, a good iron, a will to learn, an iron liver, a strong will, a will to help and succeed and a positive attitude. No gobbing off.

"an iron liver" When I was there "Two Livers" would have been better...........I learnt more in the bar than the class room.

Just a quick question, is their a passing out parade at the end of the course?

Hi Fletch,

Yeah I'm staying in police accomodation in a place called Finchley. As I'm not from London I'm travelling up on the Saturday.
Are you staying there?

Yup, you get to march around the parade square at Hendon in tunics with a band playing. It snowed for mine
