Details are scant at the moment. A Dartford HATO has been killed whilst clearing debris from a RTC. Will post more details once I get them. RIP colleague, deepest condolences to family, friends and crew mates.

Very sad news. My heart goes out to his family, friends and colleagues.
The motorway really is a dangerous place, even for those of us experienced in working there.
Rest in Peace friend.

This is very sad news. HATO's work on the motorway every day. They attend hundreds of live incidents a year and this just goes to show how even with all the experience and kit the motorway is still a very dangerous place and why my previous force is so wrong to introduce a policy allowing any officer to be sent to motorway incidents after a 1 day course and no experience.

RIP

John was laid to rest yesterday. There was a good turnout of HATOs from across all 4 corners of the country. God bless and rest easy colleague.
