No offences being committed simply by keeping a baton at home. However telescopic batons are a prohibited item meaning that you cannot make, sell, loan, gift them etc. So if you bought one then the baton is evidence of a crime, and could be seized as evidence. The exception to this (as with stuff like automatic knives etc) is if you already had the item before the legislation came into effect. Go to the full post

Is it an offence to have an asp (expandable baton) in my own private home. I understand it is an offense to have one anywhere in public but what about in my home?????
