For the uninitiated, Calder Park is near Wakefield and Rob Lane is at Newton Le Willows, near Warrington.

All we need now is a new batch of on road officers as we're short staffed in quite a few stations round the country.

This is exactly my plan!

Coming over from police specials (been a couple years since I've been here)

Slight update about me; Special Constable

Failed KEE exam last year, waited re-applied but backed out and joined HATO.

I previously failed at a KEE exam, re-coursed and failed by 3 marks
so I had to leave. Rather gutting to be honest but at the time I had
lost slight interest as I was going for PCSO as well. So I left
continued with PCSO and failed that at 47% (pass 50%).

Can imagine how annoyed I was but my problem is.... I am not great at
exams I never have been, yet if you show me (PRACTICAL) to do something I
can do it no problem, I passed all pre-training ELS/OST with flying
colours actually our class was so good we had to sit around for 2.5
hours on another class because they kept failing ELS.

You must study so much and really take it in, the questions are not there to catch you out but can be worded differently....

I have re-applied as a Special only to back out, I had a re-think and while
Police Officer is my goal as a career, It's not my only goal I want to
do. My reason to join the Police is to get onto Traffic soon as, but as a
Special Constable it does not pay the bills and
I cannot risk jobs to give my time up, I need to earn as much money as I
can at the moment for a mortgage etc etc etc.

So now after all of this I have gone down the route of HATO - I can
become traffic officer (hopefully) in a couple years time maybe more,
but for now If I can pass and join as a control room operator it's my
foot in the door with a good enough paid job.

My goal now is to join HATO - Got my interview ont he 20th for the Southeast and I cannot wait, but how quickly can I transfer to T/O?

Ideally I want as much experience as a CR/Operator as I think It will be really good starting block for me to get used to how things work!

There were 2 guys on my training course who were off road HATOs and re-trained to become on road HATOs. Hopefully we'll be welcoming you to the ranks soon. Keep me informed if you are successful and I'll get you resident HATO status sorted out as per my esteemed colleague Wristy at post #4.

Wouldn't happen to be the same Bart on PoliceSpecial (Bart S) who I message about joing and show me the link for ControlRoom? (although I had already applied was nice of you, if it was you to help haha!)

Name on there is Dean2011 - so much history with me and the police, the good and the bad and the just bad luck :(

But I feel I have made the right choice giving up police (for now, maybe).

Well thanks very much,

Quick question though, do I have competency based interview for Control Room? - At the moment I've only been told I have an interview although I have to wait for the email.

I'm not sure about the control room interview, we had a competency based interview, but our application form was also competency based questions too.
