Hey. I've not heard anything from recruitment for a long time. Slightly concerning but it would be nice to know if I am in and confirmed start date!

Wakewaterblue, I spoke to recruitment today and there is a lot uncertainty. It appears there maybe a 15 week training course on the cards with a start day mid june

That can't be right that is like doing all the training all over again like a new recruit and that wouldn't be of benefit to them? The point is that rejoiners don't need retraining as we are joining within 5 years so don't need to be trained up from scratch. Any clarity on this information would be great as 15 weeks is a long time! Not that I mind however but it would be good to know. Thanks for the information though :)

I heard from a mate of mine that is in the queue that the 15 week course is for non-home office force transferees/rejoiners. Hope that allays people's fears

Ah right, I'm from a home office force so I guess this doesn't apply to myself?

ANyone who has started got any feedback?

I've handed in my notice but I am now quite worried. One of the blokes I work with has asked to stay in our currrent force as he got offered a 9-5 SNT job which would've screwed him for childcare.

I've my borough but no idea what i'll be doing.

Is SNT 9-5?! That's odd. I would assume its shifts. Or I hope it is... I can never ring recruitment a I'm working nights at the moment so sleep all day. I shall be sending them an email to get some news as I have been waiting far too long now

Where I work, the SNT are being dicked to work with team, most of the time.
Or doing long running operations, not 9-5.
All will change when the LPM thingy gets going!.

Just out of curiosity are any of the transferee positions for response posts or all they all for the new SNT posts that are being created?

I imagine transferees would start off in the LPTs, before Response.

I wouldn't have chosen a SNT role, but as I don't know the area, it's probably a good way of settling in and seeing where the land lies instead of racing off to a grade 1 with nothing but a sat nav to help! No night shifts also sweetened the deal! Anyone here going to Croydon?

General rule from what I've seen is that most people with response permits are off to the response teams, most others are going to neighbourhoods, with a few anomalies here and there, wouldn't be the job without bizarre, seemingly no rhyme nor reason decisions.
