Personally I find the moderation on this forum excellent. They allow robust debate without letting it get out of hand. I like the old adage "if it ain't broke, don't fix it".

OK, thanks to everyone who has commented so far. There is lots to consider here already. It definitely seems like most people don't want a truly unmoderated area where anything goes (although from what I hear, nothing on earth could ever be quite like the ARRSE NAAFI bar...)
We will leave the poll and comments open for now and would encourage everyone to have their say- if you're opposed to the idea please don't feel like it's all already been said, and if you're in favour don't be shy about making your opinions known. ![]()

I strongly advise any delicate wallflowers to definitely steer clear of arrse NAAFI forum!

I was just wondering what gave rise to this idea? I might review my opinion if I knew...
..and I must visit this ARRSE forum . .what an unfortunate acronym!

An area where we (The Public) can say what we really think of HATO. Brilliant idea!
But in all seriousness, not a good idea. If people do not like others thoughts they can bring that forth in any area of this site, just do not make it personal!

You can be quite sure that that was done on purpose.

No, indeed. I'd figured as much. Still, I, myself, am "hardening up" on this forum pretty quick, so I guess I'd be "fit" for it soon... ![]()

Apologies for my ignorance: What's HATO (I did google but couldn't find anything that looked relevant)

It'd be interesting to see how it panned out if put in to place. It's all too easy to overstep the mark when you're getting agitated about something though so it probably wouldn't last for long. Perhaps creating a different forum area purely for "debates" etc where there is a level of moderation but slightly toned down?
