Non harassment order Scotland - police duty

Recommended Posts

I have a non harassment order against my ex boyfriend after going to police when he wouldn't stop texting me. There were no threats or anything he just wouldn't leave me alone.

I was recently told that if someone has a nho against them then the police have a duty to inform their current girlfriend about this. Is this true? I doubt he will have told his girlfriend about it and im worried that if they do this then things are just going to get worse and he'll blame me. Things have been great since the court proceedings started and ive heard he's moved on and doing well, however my fears have returned since being told this information. Can anyone confirm this is true? I think it's awful if it is.

The new girlfriend could put a disclosure of information request in. It would be vetted to see if it was appropriate to divulge any info to the requestor
