I heard back in December and have attended assessment centre and passed. BTP tend to have a very high volume of applications especially as this time they are recruiting countrywide. Their assessment days involve a continuous flow of candidates turning up throughout the day with a high proportion being unsuccessful. I can only assume that they prioritise candidates with a higher mark in their initial application (obviously wanting to see the stronger candidates first) and then whether or not they get the numbers from that sift move on to candidates with lower initial application pass marks. The fact you have been successful in your initial application is great and I wouldn't worry about the wait they simply need to get through the numbers who have applied. Having previously worked in HR in a past life this is normal. :)
