    Police Scotland Recruitment

Had my initial Interview today and felt the nerves really kick in. Completely fluffed up my interview and got the email this afternoon to say that i did not pass. So annoyed at myself, i knew exactly what i wanted to say, and yet i could not get the words out coherently. Failed on three of the competencies. Anyone have any advice for improving on this? The ones i failed on were Personal Awareness, Personal effectiveness and Service Delivery.

I know the feeling. I am in the same boat, Nervous as hell too and its still a few weeks away! Haven't done anything in the last week either as i've had that cold bug going around and been feeling rotten. Perfect timing! But the Competency questions are what is worrying me most.

    Police Scotland Recruitment

Hi everyone, I am onto my initial interview stage now which is at the end of July at Jackton. This might seem like a stupid question, but at the SETS, recruitment said that we were expected to speak to some probationary officers. I understand why, get a feel for the position and job role and expectations etc. but are you asked about it in the interview? or is it more of a general thing?, and how did you go about contacting anyone? Did you walk into your local police station and ask? I know some people through my brother who are in the police, but are passed the probation period. Would they be acceptable to talk to?
