    Anyone heard anything ??

after calling up again last Friday, I got a call from doctor yesterday, who said I need to see a hearing specialist and get their report. will have to go private though as NHS will take ages! after that I guess I just have to wait for their decision!

    Anyone heard anything ??

i had a medical last week of January, i was told they would refer me to the risk assessment panel as my hearing in one ear was lower than what they would expect for someone my age even though it met the standards (blame it on farm machinery). i am still to find out the result of that. Having rang occupational health twice in 2 weeks I am told the doctor is very busy and there has been no progress. I don't want to pester them but I am getting concerned that I will miss the boat if I am given the all clear. Is calling every week a bad idea?
  4. Thanks for the information. I'm pleased to say I passed the assessment and have a medical at the end of the month! that's ok then, I have made a note of what I've had so shouldn't be a problem! I'm more of a white bread man so not too many seeds for me!!
  5. Hi all, I have my assessment this week, and while there is already a lot of good information on here I still have a couple of questions that those that have been through the process already may be able to help me out on?! Firstly, in the competency interview, do they go through the same competencies as on paper application or mix in a few new ones? Also, provided I do well enough to get through medical (here's hoping!), how rigorous is it and what procedures are taken. The reason I ask is that about 6 weeks ago I took an injury playing rugby, and while I have recovered fairly well, I was given some strong painkillers similar to codeine. I only had them for almost a week, but am now worried they may give a positive result if there is a drug test, as this has just been brought to my attention and I didn't think about it at the time!! Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!
