I’m not sure I got the surgery before submitting my application because I knew I wouldn’t pass. You need to get your optician to sign off that your eyesight meets the standards. If you are gonna consider surgery I would phone recruitment and let them know because I believe you have to wait 6 weeks after surgery. Steph

Good luck with your AC! As for the eyesight I’m afraid you won’t pass the standard for the uncorrected vision. I had the same prescription as you and I got laser eye surgery before I applied as I knew my sight wouldn’t be good enough. I suggest you go to your optician as soon as and discuss your options, take the optician form with you and they will show you the standard you must be. Steph

They books I bought were only a tenner each! Anyway you’ll be fine, if you’ve had a look at the ones on the Police website then you will have an idea of what they are about. As said above, your time will go by really quickly so keep an eye on the clock. Good luck!

Yes the pens and calculators are provided. I think the test papers on the website a little outdated and therefor different to the ones that you sit - they are easier I think. I bought the test papers online and they were a great help! Steph

Yeah there is a lot to get! I’ve been picking up things for the last couple of months so I didn’t have to get it all at once. Yes, I’ve heard Altbergs are the best out there! Maybe ones I would look at getting once in the job 🙂 are you A division?

I’ve got my boots - I got Grafters and they are really comfortable! I tried on Magnums but didn’t like them.
