All lights must be static on a vehicle.White and amber to the front, red and amber to the rear. This comes under lighting regulations on optional lamps. It is all based around safe roads so that other motorists dont get confused when seeing various colours and so that they are aware when travelling up behind what colours should be visible. Similar to having not having blue lights fitted its all about safety.Hence when you buy optional lamps all manufacturers write on the box not for road use if they are any other colour than already mentioned.

Construction & Use Act states you must not be able to see anything other than red or yellow to the rear and white and yellow to the front.
