Hi everyone, I have been preparing examples for leadership and partnership working however am I right in thinking they won't be asked about until the final interview?

Hi guys I was just wondering for answering questions using the STAR method how long were your answers? I've written a few examples so far but they seem quite long they're all nearly about two pages on word. I was just wondering if it's meant to be a paragraph for each letter or more. Thanks! :)

Cheers folks I'll definitely take those tips on board so I will thank you. I wrote an answer for Personal Awareness however it's not about work it's more about volunteering would that be acceptable?

I have my initial interview coming up soon and want to be as prepared as possible. Unfortunately I'm not in Scotland at the minute so I can't pop into the local station so I was just wondering if there are any probationers on here who could give a bit of advice for the interview? I have answered one competency however I am doubting it and I'm finding it tough to answer the rest. Thanks for any help!

Thank you for your reply Harry I will remember to keep all of this in mind. Got the first one done today using the star technique and it made things a lot easier. Just a pity I can't bring my answers in with me haha! Thank you very much :)

Hi everyone, I changed my preferences to Edinburgh and Aberdeen two weeks ago. They previously were Edinburgh, L&Borders and Glasgow. I sent my application back in April and I got an email letting me know I passed the paper sift back on August 2nd. Still waiting to hear about the fitness test. It's a long wait but hopefully it should be worth it for us all.

Hi everyone I was just wondering if anyone is going through or has gone through the West with recruitment recently do you remember how long you had to wait to get to the fitness test? I received my confirmation of receipt on April 28th and received an email on August 2nd telling me I passed the paper sift. I don't mind waiting longer just wondering out of curiosity. Thank you!

Hi guys, Sorry I can't put this in the Police Scotland Recruitment forum because I haven't paid for access (yet) but I was just wondering if anyone has applied to Police Scotland and if so how long did it take to get from your application passing the paper sift to your fitness test. I sent my application on April 28th and received word a few days ago telling me I passed the paper sift and I am onto the next stage which will be the fitness test. I was just wondering could anyone give a rough guess for when I may get called to go for the test? Thanks!
