  1. Hi, a quick question to anyone who is working for or knows when Avon and Somerset will be bringing in the need for a degree qualification to be able to join the Police force? And would the salary be similar to the probationers salary currently being paid? Thanks in advance, Julian.

Hi all, I am currently waiting for Avon and Somerset to open recruitment and I am wondering, as I read somewhere, is it possible to get assigned to any particular unit whilst going through probation? i.e. detectives ,or are the 2 years just done as a general duties officer to gain overall experience?
